Your toddler is so excited to be a cowboy for Halloween that he won’t take off the costume and insists on playing with the animal toys every day. Join him on his ranch and talk about the animals.
It’s the back and forth conversation about something he’s obsessed with that leads to talking.
For kids who aren’t yet talking, say what animal it is and make the animal sound. Be his cowboy assistant and help him feed the animals as you describe what you’re doing.
For kids who can make the sounds and name the animal, ask questions about the animal. What sound does the cow make? What color is this cow?
